- Tweet button on each article, both post and list view
- Admin can set a display name to show as 'author' on the post rather than using the 'username' in the blog settings section
- Admins can backdate posts so you can add in historical (or hysterical) articles
- An RSS feed is now available, and an RSS button will appear on the blog template
- A button to return to the list view is now available on all posts
- Blog images will pop-up in a light-box effect (see above)
- Images are now organised in folders in the blog file picker
- Admins can turn off comments globally in the blog settings section
- Links will be automatically created in article text if you type a URL when adding a post
- Admins can set a default folder for blog image uploads
- Tags on posts now link to filtered tag results, e.g. A list page per tag
Links in posts are now working (hurray!)
New Tweet button on posts
Changes in the blog admin
We're still working on the rendering performance which we hope to ship in the next couple of weeks at which point the blog will be turned on for all users. We will continue to work on new features throughout the year too, though large parts of the team will be moving onto the shop.
NB. To get the new blog template (with the RSS button, tweet button, etc.), you will need to delete your current blog page (not the blog itself just the page) and add a new page back in from the pages section. The new blog page will not be default style again, so you will need to reapply your look and feel, and other items on the page will be lost. So you may want to copy all the page items to another page first, then delete the blog page, re-add it then copy them back. Sorry this is a bit inelegant, we'll look at changing that too.

We have recently pushed a minor update to the blog. You probably won't notice many changes in this update however there is one major fix that we think you will find useful.
When someone comments on your blog posts you will now get an email to let you know that the comment has been left. If you wish to turn this option off go to the blog settings and it can be turned on and off there (As shown in the image below).
We have other updates on the way with fixes for some of those things that are causing a few frustrating moments. As soon as these have been tested we will let you know.

Firstly, thank you for all your feedback! It's been great and do keep it coming. We're so pleased that you are liking the blog so far and although we still have a few issues to work on, it looks like the platform is pretty stable and reliable.
As you can see from the sidebar we have fixed a number of the issues that have been affecting you. I know linking is proving to be a bit of an issue, but we are working to get this fixed as soon as possible.
Something to note is that we will be updating the blog template from time to time. if you would like to see the new updates (most of the changes are around spacing and styling) then you need to delete your blog page from the site and then re add it. In doing this you will lose any customisation of the current blog template but you will not lose your blog content.
Below are the bugs that have been fixed in this release:
- 'Image too big' warning message added when users upload an image too large for the file manager.
- When selecting Bold, Underline and Italic altogether, post only showing the underline.
- 'Save Draft' displays time as 'Dec 31 1969 11.59'
- Tag list not updating after posting
- Clicking on a post title with exclamations now correctly loads the blog post
Steps to change your username to your name
* Go to edit mode and select 'Admin' in the top navigation bar.
* Under 'Account' in the navigation on the left hand side, click on 'Your Details'
* Select the 'Your Details' tab in the pop up and click on 'view or edit your details'
* Run through the questions and you will be asked for a forename and surname this is what will then be shown as your blog author. It defaults to the username if these aren't filled out.
Text Vs Article Post Types
When you first create a new post you get an option of four different types, Text, Image, Video and Article. Each of these different post types enable you to do different things within your post. The image and video ones are pretty standard, you have the ability to add an image (or video to your post). With the Text and the article options the difference is much more subtle. In the Text post type you can add text but cannot define the page break location. Also you cannot add images within the text in the post but you can add images above or beneath it. With the Article post type you can add images
Posts per page and comments
You can set the number of posts you would like to display per page by going to settings within the blog editor. Here, you can also choose to have all comments moderated and even set how many comments you'd like to show below your posts. If you would like to turn off comments, you can do this on a post to post basis at the moment. We will be working on a way to make it site wide.
Please keep your feedback coming. We've already had some great suggestions.
